The BSI Incident Practitioner (Vorfall-Praktiker) training course prepares you specifically for the professional handling of IT security incidents. You will learn how to act in a structured, confident, and BSI-compliant manner during security-related incidents — whether in companies, public authorities, or other organizations.

This training is part of the Cyber Security Network (CSN) of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) and is aimed at individuals who wish to serve as Digital First Responders or Trusted Contacts for IT Security Issues.

📘 What to Expect as an Incident Practitioner

• Understanding the structure and tasks of the CSN, as well as the roles of First Responders, Practitioners, and Experts
• Communication skills: acting professionally on the phone — even without technical tools
• Recognizing common threats such as phishing and ransomware, and applying standardized response methods
• Handling incidents — including those outside of traditional IT environments (e.g., remote work, field service)
• Internalizing the principle: “After the incident is before the incident” — continuous learning and prevention

Upon successful completion of the training, you will receive an official BSI certificate, qualifying you for advanced training as an Incident Expert.
