What to expect
Step into the world of cyber defense! Together with CS VISOR, an award-winning Managed Security Service Provider and recognized training partner, and Trend Micro, we invite all cyber enthusiasts – professionals, students, and curious beginners – to join our Capture the Flag (CTF) event.
The session kicks off with a short welcome from CS VISOR and Trend Micro. Right after that, the live CTF challenge begins: You will investigate and respond to a realistic cyberattack scenario using Trend Micro XDR.
What you’ll do
- Work inside a simulated environment to investigate a live incident
- Use XDR workflows to connect clues across endpoints, email, cloud, and identities
- Identify IoCs, prioritize risks, and decide on response actions
- Exchange insights with fellow participants and discuss best practices

Laptop, internet connection, and curiosity — no prior Tred Micro experience needed.

CTF Rules & Implementation Procedure
All participants compete individually in a guided investigation using Trend Micro Mission Control & XDR.
Environment
- The challenge runs on Trend Micro Mission Control (secure, browser-based).
- Individual participation only — no teams or shared accounts.
- Platform access credentials are shared after the Microsoft Teams briefing starts.
- No local installs required.

Challenge Overview
Scenario: Real-Life Investigation. Analyze XDR telemetry, detect adversary behavior, locate IOCs, and submit flags.
- Total of 50 challenges.
- Finishing all is not required; the objective is to maximize your score by the deadline.
Goal: Highest Total Score
Gameplay & Scoring System
- Each correct answer is worth 10 points.
- Hints:
- Two-hint challenges:
- Using the first hint reduces the question’s value to 5 points.
- Using the second hint (usually the solution) grants 0 points but lets you continue.
- Single-hint challenges: the hint typically reveals the answer — using it grants 0 points, but you can proceed to the next question.
- Two-hint challenges:
- You must solve or reveal the current question to unlock the next one.
- The live scoreboard updates rankings in real time.

Rules of Play
- Individual participation only — no teams or shared accounts.
- No external tools/scripts unless explicitly allowed.
- Flags must match exactly (may be case-sensitive).
- Sharing answers is strictly prohibited; the scoreboard is monitored live.
- Platform access is granted only after the live briefing begins.
Scoring & Awards
- At 16:00, the top 3 participants with the highest total scores are declared winners.
- Ties are resolved by the earliest completion time.
- Winners receive the announced prizes and recognition as the CTF Champions .
